I am trying to create a dial up internet connection and was told i need to
start the Remote Access Connection Manager. However, I get the following
error in the event viewer:

"The Remote Access Connection Manager service terminated with service
specific error 3221356592"

Can anyone help me resolve it?

Thanks

Hi shaz,

Remote Access Connection Manager depends on these three services:

Telephony
Plug and Play
Remote Procedure Call

Ensure that the above services are not disabled and that they are either
already started (if Startup type is Automatic) or able to be started (if
Startup type is Manual).

If the above services are set to either Automatic or Manual and are able to
Start, then the error may be due to Winsock corruption. If you have access
to another computer that is able to access the internet, you could download
the WinSock XP Fix file, copy it to USB drive or floppy, and then copy it
from the USB drive or floppy onto the "problem" computer and run the fix.
Restart the computer and then see if you can successfully start the Remote
Access Connection Manager service.
