Interet explorer won't open web sites

Internet explorer will not open web sites, Windows 98 SE, Internet explorer 6.

Netscape allows me to connect to websites and and outlook express works for email.

Have tried reloading explorer with no sucess, anybody else had problems like this?

Do you have any sort of firewall software? You may need to add IE to the allow list.

I have Norton, but disabling security makes no difference

Interesting. Try saving an html file to the local system (probably using one of your browsers that works) and try to open that with IE. This will narrow it down as to being an internal IE issue, or a network connectivity issue with IE.
