Hi,
Based on my understanding, Intel's Viiv is similar to Centrino, and for the
later one, it's not one technology but a set of technologies (e.g.
processor, main board and wireless network chipset) to achieve a lower power
consumption.
In the case of Viiv, it's purpose is to achieve a better multimedia
experience, and for that, you need to meet the requirements documented here:
http://www.intel.com/products/viiv/requirements.htm
In simple words, the concept is to use an integrated/bundled solution to
address a specific need/problem. The main part of the integrated/bundled
solution, of course, will be Intel's product(s) or technologies along with
third parties products (that meeting the specs or use Intel technologies).
Hope this helps and good luck.
