Have a question that I do not recall seeing asked before and have been
wondering about.

I am running Windows 98se and have DLed most of the updates from MS in
case ever need them.

Question is if a person runs them does it make a difference what order
they are installed and if so how does one determine which ones to
install first??

If they install the newer ones then the older ones might the older one
mess up the newer one??

TIA

Yes, they will need to be installed in a certain order.

Yes, some updates replace (supersede) earlier updates.

The detection logic at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com will know which
updates are needed. If you'd rather install them manually, go to Windows
Update, select CUSTOM and scan, then write down the updates needed then bail
& install them manually.

IE6 SP1 must be installed to use Windows Update website.

Okay that brings me back to what I was trying to find out. If I
install them manually how do I know which updates to install first or
what order to install them in?
