Hi,
I have a Sony Vaio laptop which I bought about 1.5 years ago, which came with Windows 8 pre-installed and the hard disk is giving load of problems and crashes some times. Now, I have decided to change my hard disk and would like to install Windows 8 SL from the DVD I have purchased with the new Hard Drive and not the recovery method.
I want to know if this is possible or I can install windows only by recovery method. I also tried to install windows 7 home edition which I own but at boot message came "Invalid Operating System". So I hope I will be able to Install new Windows 8 SL from DVD or the hardware somehow is tied to Original windows that came with laptop and I have to install that only via recovery.
Please help. I don't like the recovery, I like to have my OS on my DVD and all Drivers I can get from Sony Vaio support websitr.
