I have run XP Pro on a Dell 5150C for 3 years, but some files have become corrupted. I re-formatted the disc, and reloaded XP from a reinstall disc provided by Dell, and containing SP2. All went well.
Then I installed an SP3 disc, bought from Microsoft. The machine has stopped, no keyboard or mouse, black screen, so useless. What did I do wrong, and how can I fix it?
