I have a motherboard, gigabyte (ga-q35-s2) using this controller:

Intel Corporation 82801IR/IO/IH (ICH9R/DO/DH) 4 port SATA IDE
Controller (rev 02)

harddisk: 320G, sata2

formating and copying files to harddisk are ok but after reboot:

invalid boot.ini
booting from c:\winnt
ntdetect failed

Pls kindly advise.

You'll need to start over.

You have to provide more details as to what steps you have taken
during Windows setup.
In bios setup what is SATA Port0-3 Native Mode (Intel ICH9DO
Southbridge) set to?
I'm assuming the partition you're installing to is 128G or smaller?
