This site, like many... allows BBCode to be used for formatting posts etc.
BBCodes are simply code 'tags' that you can add to your posts that allows you to change the formatting of the text.
You can add 'underlines', make text bold, change colors, colors, colors etc.

There are a number of ways that you can achieve this:

Manual method

Code 'tags' are in 2 parts... the opening 'tag' and the closing 'tag' ( you need to add both for the formatting to work)

Here's a small example of 'tags':

Let's see how this works in practise..

If you were to type this...
fd9549f7514df02aa3bddb6a45d23690.png

Would appear like this....
This is bold

Just the same with italic.....

Would appear like this....
This is italic

Would appear like this...
This is underlined

To add colour to your text

This is the one odd formatting.
You must use the word 'color' in your 'tags'... not 'colour'.

Would appear like this....
This is Red

just insert any color name in your formatting... red, blue, green. etc

always remember...
  • you must add both 'opening tags' and 'closing tags' for the formatting to work.
  • You can mix these code 'tags'.. to make things even more interesting.
  • You can format individual words.... not just 'sentences'

for instance:

would appear like this...
i love this great world

Note:
To be able to manually enter bbcode into your post, you will first have to switch the post area to the BBCode Editor.

Using site 'toolbox' method

d62e80e3c0bb85f581c985f67294057b.png

This can be found above any new post or reply that you make.

Across the top you will see..
B for bold
I for italic
U for underline

To type a word to appear in bold....
Type the word/words that you want in bold....'highlight' them (by left clicking in front of the words... then drag the 'mouse' across until the words turn 'blue'.

Then click on the B symbol on the 'toolbox'.... your 'hightlighted' words will now be formatted to appear in bold.
This method works also for 'underlining' or 'italic'.

Using the 'Site Toolbox' also gives you the choice of altering the 'font', 'font size' or 'font color'.

You can also click on any of the 'emoticons' to add them to your post.

Using the BBCode extension (Firefox users only)

BBCodeXtra is an extension, compatible with Mozilla FireFox and SeaMonkey, which adds to the context menu new commands to insert BBCode/Html/XHtml codes in an easy and fast way...

This extension can be downloaded from:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bbcodextra/

From the download page just click on 'Add to Firefox'.

Once installed, it will add some extra context menus to your mouse 'right click'.

When composing a message or post, just highlight the words to be formatted and then right click:
Then click on the formatting you require.

Another window will open with all the colors on.... just click on the color you require:
