I am using Windows Vista and PowerPoint 2007. I have inserted a .wav file
and a .mp3 audio file into different slides. The files do not play when the
slide is shown, either automatically or after being clicked. I have tried
saving the PP file as a 2007 version and also as a '97-2000 version. Neither
played.
I then copied the '97-2000 file and the audio files to my laptop that is
running XP and everything worked fine.
Ant suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

no powerpoint slide can play embeded mp3 files, you will have to make them
wav if you want to embed them,
if not leave them in the same directory as your powerpoint file and make
sure you have all the files together...

also have in mind that there is a file size setting in powerpoint

Microsoft is stupid.. in version 2007 they should have made it possible to
embed mp3 or at least wma if they didnt want to run into liscence problems

You should ask this in the MS Office forum for PowerPoint.
