YAML is a popular format for defining configuration files, especially for cloud-native applications that run on Kubernetes. However, writing and maintaining YAML files can be challenging, as they are prone to errors, hard to read, and require a lot of manual work. In today’s video, we’re showing Microsoft Copilot in Azure, a powerful AI assistant that among many other things, helps you write better YAML files faster and easier.

The video above showcases how to use Copilot in Azure for YAML editing for applications being deployed to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

The video features:

  • How to create a new YAML file for a deployment specification using Copilot. You will see how Copilot can generate the YAML code based on your natural language description, and how you can modify and customize the generated code using the inline editor.
  • How to format and validate your YAML file using Copilot. You will see how Copilot can automatically indent and align your YAML code, and how it can detect and fix common syntax and semantic errors in your YAML file.
  • How to understand and explain your YAML file using Copilot. You will see how Copilot can provide helpful comments and annotations for your YAML code, and how it can answer your questions about the YAML syntax and semantics using natural language.
  • How to open the chat for Copilot in Azure. You will see how you can access the Copilot chat window from the Azure portal, and how you can interact with Copilot using natural language commands and queries.
