I tried to use Firewire 1394 importing video from Canon ZR65MC to Movie Maker
(Windows Vista Home Premium). The screen said: Can not find compatible
device. I checked the camcorder, the screen showed: DV in, the 1394 cable is
new, computer is brand new and up to dated.

What can I do? thanks.

I have the exact same problem as you but with the Canon ZR950. The box even
says VISTA Compatible, but my computer never recognizes my camcorder. I don't
even get the beep to confirm that the computer has identified it.

Computer:
Vista Premium on an HP Media Center PC m7757c
What I've tried so far:
-I've tried 2 different Firewire 4 pin to 6 pin cables and that didn't
make a difference.
-I plugged it into both of my firewire ports and that didn't make a
difference.
-I have tried using Vista's built in Windows Movie Maker to import the
video but it says that there are no devices found.
-I have also checked the Device Manager and it doesn't see the camcorder
at all.
-I tried plugging it in first, then turning it on to the Play setting. I
have done the same thing for the Camera setting.
Are you sure this camcorder is supported by Vista? It IS your newest
camcorder at the moment I believe.
