Hello,
I have windows 8.
My computer was infected by malware that came with some of the downloads I've made. I looked online for info on how to delete a "tuvaru" adware that's been plaguing my mozilla firefox.
It asked me to press the windows key and 'r' to type regedit in order to delete some registry keys. I accidentally deleted a whole bunch of them (sorry for being unspecific. I am not a tech person). Now, I can't refresh my computer, and I can't download any program that might undelete my registry keys. I can't access one of my browsers, but I have--miraculously--access to Mozilla at the moment. I can't restore any of my files!
Almost every program I try to run comes up with "illegal operation attempted on a registry key marked for deletion."
I've been doing some research, and a suggestion's been made that I might be able to refresh with safe mode. I don't know if safe mode will be accessible, given that almost none of my programs can't run. Also, I'm afraid I'll lose my only access to Mozilla, the internet, if I restart. I want some expert feedback.
