IE needs to close etc.

Hi All,

I would just like to say hi and begin by saying that I am a computer tech novice and so perhaps some of the answers to my problems may seem obvious so I hope you`ll be a bit patient,though I am learning slowly.Many Thanks.

I keep experiencing the message Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.The error signature I recieve states:-

AppName:iexplore exe. AppVer:6.0.2900.2180 ModName:msgsc.dll. ModVer:7.0.816.0 offset:000215aa.

I then get an End Program Now message and then I have to log off and begin the whole process again.This often goes on a number of times until I finally,through frustration,give up.I would say that mostly this occurs when reading my messages,but it does apply to web browsing.

Also,on other occassions,when attempting to access a web site,my computer makes a short internal beep and the computer not responding message appears.

Does any of the above make any sense to anyone.I`d really appreciate some guidance if you can offer it.

I`ve managed to remove some of the problems I`ve been experiencing with IE by reinstalling my copy of SoundBlaster.I read on another forum how there have been problems in the past particularly with SBLive upsetting some of the functions of the computer.I do know from my own experience (before I connected to the net)that on several occassions when I`d had problems,after reinstalling SoundBlaster everything was hunky dory again,it just didn`t occur to me to try it this time.
Does anybody know why these problems should occur?

Anyhow,all seems well at the present time.
