I like to consider myself a power user but this problem has me stumped. IE 7
will not display advertisements. I get a message that IE cannot load the
page. Ordinarily this would be good, however I get the same message when
clicking on some links and when clicking a link in outloock. The problem is
the same in Firefox 2.2.2.11. Anyone have an idea?

Please try the IE7 group.
The recommended newsgroup is microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

In a proper newsreader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

If you must use a web interface:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

I got this type of problem before. My problem with the fact to some
type of ad blocker was installed into my network set up. I had
"Freedom" installed. I uninstalled it from Add/Remove Programs and
then ran "winsockxpfix.exe" to rebuild my TCP/IP stack.
