I want favorites to appear in Windows Explorer again - my offline

I used Favorites alot in Windows explorer (not IE). It saved me huge amounts
of navigation time. It is really rotten that it is not available. As a matter
of fact, the whole hidden navigation, lack of easily viewable menus only
slows me down and makes working with Windows Vista very, very, frustrating.
At least put offline Favorites back in Windows Explorer. Favorites should not
just be an Internet feature. When I want to dive 7 levels down to a
particular folder, I want to do it right now, not 8 clicks from now.

You can drag a shortcut to Favorites into the Favorite Links pane....

Open Windows Explorer
Click on Organise>Layout>Menu Bar

Nothing about Favorites in any of those menus.......

He was also complaining about a lack of easily viewable menus.

Just done so - 90% of it is about the lack of FAVORITES.

Well you're seeing a completely different post to the rest of us....

You can put Favorite Links in the Navigation Pane of Explorer. It's the
section above the Folders. You can drag the Folders divider up/down to
display more/less of the Favorite Links.

I don't know about your setup - mine appears to have been customized by
Acer.
There's a star on the left side that when clicked drops down the favorites
bar.
On the right side I have a tools button that drops down a menu with a choice
to
turn the menu bar on. Once that's on I click on View->Explorer
Bar->Favorites
