I ran auto updates all the time until I got an update that failed and just kept repeating. Called MS and paid them $99 for them to fix it. The error went away but the updates all failed to install since then and now that support is gone I can't DL the patch for IE8 because all the other updates failed to install. I think there about 40 of them. I have tried to install one at a time, manually and automaticaly and they just say install failed and give some hex code that is like 0000x8x00x80. All the codes for each different update is different, so what is on stupid guy supposed to do. I think the service guy shut off something in the registry that keeps updates from loading and that is what fixed the one that kept repeating, but doomed all others to failure and now they won't even take the call to ask what they did.
