I get error code 0x80070017 when trying to do a backup of my Windows 7 64 bit files on a new Acer

When I try to backup my windows 7 64 bit files using Windows backup to an external hard drive on Drive E, It fails with an error code 0x80070017. I can't get a clean backup.
