On my radeon 9600 pro i just deleted all the old drivers and downloaded the new catalyst ones. My problem is that I can't find the place on my ati settings to turn up my AGP speed its at 0x. And how big a difference would it make gaming wise if i moved it up to 8x?

usually this setting is self determined by the computer. Does your computer have support for 8x?

speedwise, if you play older games, there wouldn't be much of a difference but newer games (especially first person games) released from 1-2 years ago will get a dramatic boost from a higher agp speed.

AGP speed is usually more of a motherboard setup thing than a driver thing; if your AGP speed is set properly in the BIOS, you should be all set. The driver might just be trying to read the current setting, and failing.

Well I just downloaded a new bios like a week ago. So all I have to do is go turn it up on my bios? What will it be under. I know my card and my mobo support it so thats not it. thanks.

what you're looking for is 'SmartGart'.. however, i'm not too sure on if it can enable agp if it's shut up through bios.
go to your bios and just look around through everything. somewhere in there it should have something about agp settings. when you find it, there should be a setting for 8x. if it lacks that, then you may have to install some stuff to enable it.
as for your last question.. the difference it would make is negligible. the most graphically intense games today need 4x at most.
