The iPhone and iPad make great email companions, thanks to the built-in Mail app. Unfortunately, large attachments can eat lots of data, or worse, not send at all. Luckily services like Dropbox are making it easier than ever to share files via email, no matter how big they are. Once you've got the file in Dropbox, you can send it via the Mail app in just a few taps!

How to share large email attachments in Dropbox with the built-in Mail app

  1. Lauch the Dropbox app on your iPhone or iPad. — Free - Download Now
  2. Find the file you'd like to share and tap on it.
  3. Tap on the Share button.
  4. Tap on Copy Link.
  5. Launch the Mail app.
  6. Either reply to a message or create a new one.
  7. In the body of the message, tap and release to bring up the popup menu.
  8. Tap on Paste.
  9. Finishing filling out the rest of your email and tap Send in the upper right hand corner when you're done!

That's all there is to it! This is especially convenient for anyone who has to send large attachments or file types that aren't common. Just store them in Dropbox and then copy links to them when you need them. The receive will simply get a link to download the file. This means it doesn't take forever to send, no matter how large the file is, and it prevents you from getting unable to send errors due to files being too large.

Many other cloud storage services can also generate share links as well. Give it a try and let me know in the comments how it works for you!
