How to remove Vista from Dual Boot

I have purchased a new Vista machine.

Now wish to remove the Vista installation from my present WinXP SP2 machine
that has a dual boot set up using the Vista program.

Vista resides on the same HD along with Windows XP obviously in separate
partitions.

Would some very kind person please explain to me the required steps to
remove Vista and the Dual boot mechanism?

It's easy to do, boot on the Windows XP CD, select repair, log on to
the XP install and run fixboot and fixmbr. Then you'll boot only into
XP and you can delete the Vista install by formatting that partition.

Hi drybones,

If you have the Windows Vista DVD then use the DVD to remove the
Windows Vista Dual Boot Screen.

Start Windows XP and when you are at your desktop then insert the
Windows Vista DVD. Open a Command Prompt (Start > run > cmd.exe)

Type the following in the Command Prompt.

E:

Note: if your DVD Drive has a different drive letter than E then
replace E with your DVD Drive letter.

cd boot

bootsect /nt52 SYS
