how to record anlog sounds from a cassette tape?

Everytime I hit any record button my comuter atuomaticlly shuts down and
reboots.
I have a intel D955xbk dual processor with 2 gig of ram , windows XP PRO.,
300 gig hard drive, w/ V-STREAM card for recor caseet tapes and other media.

My problem is every single time I hit a record button my computer instantly
shuts down and reboots. then when it reboots I send the problem to microsoft
adn then their windows comes up to tell me there is a critical error which
need to be resolved but does not give any clue where to even begin to look.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I am doing Wrong?

Hardware driver problem. (blue screen almost always is) See what you can do
to improve the driver for the cassette tape device.
