Hi

Is there a way to prevent user to store specific filetypes on a networke
disk or directory? Specifically, it is about mp3, jpeg and so on.

TIA

Alex

R2 may help you on file server.
Or you can use commercial software like NSS from northern

You can do this:
- Get the managers' approval to ban such files.
- Post a message to explain your policy.
- Run a scheduled job each night to delete all banned files.

Most users will comply immediately. Those who don't
will quickly get the message.

A policy needs to be communicated via management. You run a script every
night to delete files with a certain extension. Users will get the message.
