I'm not sure Norton would have help you either. I have the same issue and I have Nortons most recent 360! Here is my story.
Three Files loaded to my computer today that are acting like viruses. The files are :
Files Names File Company
AU_.EXE OutfoxTV products
Search Protect Conduit
MyPCBackup JDI Backup limited
They are all setup so uninstall makes them drill further into the machine. I didn’t! Saw the screen asking for permission to control the computer, then cancelled the uninstall. Hope that helps me!
Norton scan function was changed to only allow the shortened scan and the Start manager couldn't be changed to Don’t start . I was able to work around those issues and run the full scan and the NPE but neither even saw the virus! I also use the Microsoft tool and that didn't see them either.
I still don’t want to try an uninstall until I talked with an expert. Any suggestion?
