I have a brand new computer. Vista Media Center keeps launching as soon as
the Internet is connected. It relaunches about every 10-20 seconds no matter
what web page I am on. I have reinstalled Vista. I have disabled all tool
bars. I have Verizon Broadband Access with a KPC680 Express Card. Media
Center launched in the Verizon store as soon as the Express Card was
activated and before any other software was loaded. Gateway says it is a
third party software issue and can't help. I haven't found a phone number to
call Microsoft for Tech support. Can anyone help?

Hi Mlhobbs2,

If you do not want to use Media Center at all, you can disable all of
these services to completely disable the Media Center :

Windows Media Center Extender Service
Windows Media Center Receiver Service
Windows Media Center Scheduler Service
Windows Media Center Service Launcher
Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service

This tutorial will show you how if needed.
