how to delete a file that causes the folder it's in to freeze

The file is a downloaded demo, Eleusis game, in My Documents folder. Any touch on the folder or any file in it causes the computer to freeze, requiring the use of task manager to escape. Then it still is a minute or so before the pc is usable again. On
occasion it has even needed pulling the plug to shut the pc down.I tried to delete My Documents folder but Windows won't allow that.Help please.
