how do I get updates, I keep getting errors. The latest error is code 80070005 ??

I haven't been able to get a Windows update since September 2011. I keep getting errors. The last error 2as Code 80070005. I've looked at all the troubleshooting pages and nothing addresses my situation.Thank you.
