how can this be?

My Acer 2000 (running XP Professional).. all of a sudden won't connect to
the internet using Firefox OR IE6. I can go online to newsgroups (i am
sending this on the computer right now), i can check email, and i can even
open up limewire and search, etc-- but when i open a browser--i get
nothing.. what can it be??

make sure you dont have any funky proxy settings in there or set to any auto
caching - tool - options - conenction - lan settings
