attention M. Fergusson
I do what you indicate me but when it is finish a window pop up logon
hotmail asking username and password for the following server
http://services.msn.com/scvs/hotmail/httpmail
When it is done the same pop up is coming then a messge to say the access is
denied.

sure that you have configured your browser to allow cookies (A small text

Select the Override automatic cookie handling check box.

I used to download my hotmail using OE till about a couple of months ago
through http server motioned viz.,
http://services.msn.com/scvs/hotmail/httpmail. One fine morning I faced the
same situation Delemarre faced. Error message of OE said that the 'service
is unavailable'. I tried again a couple of times and finally deleted the
account from the Outlook Express. Looks like hotmail does not support http
download through OE any longer. They would like people to use the Windows
Live mail instead for ostensible reasons.

Which incidentally brings up the question of availability of any third
party software which can download of hotmail similar to other POP accounts
through OE. Will be obliged for any help.

I install windows live mail and it seems working,but I continue some
researcg with hotmail.I use hotmail for more than 10 years and don't have
too many problem.

And you may want to refer to: http://support.msn.com/

If you get a "certificate" warning, just select a certificate for one
session.

Hotmail OE access has problems. MS has turned off the access of
"young" new accounts because spammers have been "abusing" the free
email accounts. People with long time accounts were still "granted"
access thru OE. However, I also get the "'service is unavailable" for
time to time.
