Hi Is anyone familiar with this free software. I would like to know if anyone thinks it's any good. I have messed with it a little, but it may be over my head. There is a free and a paid program!
Thanks!

Hot CPU Tester Pro is a system health and stability tester. It tests CPU, chipset and virtually all parts of motherboard for errors/bugs, defective parts and components. It is a burn-in test with uniquely designed state of the art DefectTrack engine. DefectTrack is a technology developed by 7Byte to diagnose systems regarding its stability and in general, computer's health. Hot CPU Tester is currently being used in many labs and governmental organizations around the world, as a reliable stability testing utility.

How it works:
Hot CPU Tester Pro 4 is consisted of several test modules to stress-test each component within a system. Defective parts are most likely for to fail while they are under a heavy load, when the heat production is at its highest. The testing modules intentionally stress all components to their maximum limits to assess their integrity. Unstable parts cannot endure these pressures and will fail the tests, allowing the opportunity for an upgrade or exchange before the PC is released into a production environment. It is recommended that Hot CPU Tester should run for at least six hours to fully check the system. If a system is stable under hard conditions for six hours, it is unlikely to generate errors during normal operating conditions.

My suggestion regarding this type of program: Run it well BEFORE your warranty expires. Make sure you didn’t get a system with faulty components. Don’t experiment on an older system. If something is “marginal”, these programs WILL find them – often destructively!
There is a slight risk involved.:)

Thanks Donateo for the link.

I stress test new builds and not had any issues. I noticed with the FurMark Graphics Card stress test the temp went from 30c to 78c in no time, so watch the temp carefully as it rises very quickly.
These tests can be a good thing on a new build. I would be hesitant to run these tests on an old computer.:)

Thanks for your reply @DSTM Would you consider running any of these tests on a old system, if you might be having BSOD or other problems.??
I can see where the FurMark Grapfics test could be risky if the temperature went to high! In your opinion would if be OK to run the Diagnostics test. It is suggested to run the diagnostic test for at least 6 hours. Here's my bench test, (8676)which seems to be above most. The burn in test makes me wonder???Wouldn't you only want to run it one time after building your machine??
Thanks!

IMHO There are some good free software to test your HD and memory. I looking for freeware to test the GPU and the CPU.
Sea Tools for Windows is what I use to test HD's. I use Memtest86+ to test RAM. I don't have access to a lot of parts when helping seniors, so I'm always looking for free software programs to test the hardware.
Any one have their favorites?? Please post them in this thread!!
Thanks!

My bench mark score! I guess it's good??? I'm always thinking how I can make our forum interesting to members and guests. I have a lot I want to share on Free PC Help Forum

Hi! So I guess this tested my quad core processor??? And it passed??? That's a good thing.
Sea tools says my HD is good and Memtest86+ says my RAM is good. I guess that's about all I can test!!:winner:
