Hmmmmmmmm, wonder why my Dell E521 resumes as soon as it hibernates. Does it
every time now. Its more like a restart. Some times it will stay off for a
while then just come on later in the day but its been a while since it did
that. I dont have any wake on LAN settings checked either. Any ideas
appreciated!!!

cud be a number of things. try turning off wake from mouse, sometimes basic level ones 'jitter'.
check ur windows scheduler. It could be that its set to wake up, and that a windows defender
scan, or the likes is due (i think default is daily).

Also you can check that any USB stuff isn't going on or off. for egg, if u have a printer on,
but not used, they sometimes slip into standby, and windows detects as device unplugged.

failing all that, turn hibernation mode off in the settings, reboot, and then enable it again to
give it a clear out.

hope that helps

Hi,

Wireless mouse/keyboard are the most common cause, updating the supporting
software can help.

Otherwise, you will need to begin disabling background processes prior to
allowing the system to hibernate in order to isolate which one is
interfering. Start with things like active AV scanning and others that run
without user interaction (like 3rd party defrag software).
