Hi all,
My problem presists, I've tried pulling in a backup that I made last year
but still get the message:
"C\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorsvw.exe"cannot access a
necessary file, "msvcr80.dll.", and there are other programs trying to
access this same file. This report is created by Norton SystemWorks.

"DLL Conflict"

Any help that can be given will be muchly appreciated

Why did you waste your time and money for crapware. That "problem" is
homemade by Norton and does not exist. See also

You can search for this file (msvcr80.dll) and copy it to this path which
asking for it:
C\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorsvw.exe
%Windir%\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e
18e3b_8.0.50727.42_x-ww_0de06acd
it should contain these three files: msvcr80.dll, msvcp80.dll and msvcm80.dll
Try to see if it exist here or you can copy it there for any file want to
use it:
C:\Program Files\<Application wanting this file/DLL> or where it needed by
whichever application asking for them.
HTH.

There are plenty of Symantec articles about false error messages caused
by Norton's "Windoctor" which can be safely ignored. As for this one,
search your system drive for the 'missing' file "msvcr80.dll" and you'll
find it most likely within the %windir%\WinSxS\...\ subfolder(s) where
it belongs.

You're welcome.
