Hi,

I have been given a Toshiba laptop running Windows XP Home to fix for someone.
When I try to boot it up it gives the error "" ISASS.exe Error When trying to
update a password this return status indicates that the value provided as a
current password is not correct"" then it re boots and the same process starts
again.

I have tried to get it into safe mode and dos mode without any luck.
Unfortunately the owner of the laptop does not have the system disk.

Can anyone recommend any ways to solve this problem.

Thanks

MS has an article on the error message:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307545
I did not read the entire article but not having the system disk will
probably be show stopper.

Hi Ron,

Thanks for that information. I see it will not work with an OEM version so
like you said that is probably that. She will just have to purchase a new Win
XP system disk.

Thanks again.
