Hi David,

Do you have MS Accounting Express 2007 installed?.

Try to open the services control panel and set the Service to maunal instead
of Auto:
MSSQLServerADHelper <= This service should be set to manual

http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1472102&SiteID=17&pageid=0
You can access the server configuration and see the Set up for the TCP is
enabled or try to change the Port, there is may be another app using the same
Port number or been blocked by the Firewall.
But that depend on if you use the SQL to access an Online Database.
HTH.

Hi Nass , thanks for responding.

I don't have MS Accounting express 2007, what I do have is pre-installed
Office 2007 trial period due to finish sometime near the end of January

also Norton Internet Security trial also. As for Office 2007 I will
extricate and install Office 2003 , I have come up against a few Security
snags already by

using the both versions of Office , I also have two desktops using 2003
version, Norton Internet security will depend on what it costs to renew
licence. I currently am using ZA firewall & Avast AV on desktops.

which are operating quite well across the network.

I have had a brief look at forums link you provided, will look further
at this site. When you talk about Services control panel do you mean the
services

from the Administration Tools ?.

Hi David,
Yes, the Services from Administrative Tools or Open a run command and type in:
services.msc click [OK] and you will find yourself in the services
Control panel Interface.

Uninstall any outdated or run out Subscription software from your machine.
HTH.
