Right now Im back to XP x64 or I'd just run this myself. I have
another drive coming tomirrow so it can wait. What I'm wondering is if
disabling this "Multimedia Class Scheduler" would resolve the high CPU
utilization for audio playback ?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Audiosrv\DependOnService
->
remove MMCSS from the list
then you can disable it (might need to reboot)
