using norton ghost. Not only did it not copy,i can now not find my G drive
icon(the external drive) in my computer,it used to be there, can anyone give
me any idea where i can find this!.
It is showing up in safely remove hardware has working properly, but because
its not in my comp,i can't accses it at all.
Thank you.

usually you can go to
computer management
via admin tools and
it will likely show up
under disk management.

if the volume is listed,
then right click to explore it.

hmm?

most of the time volumes do
show up somewhere in computer
management.

however, although windows acknowledges
that there is a device plugged into the
usb system, the external device itself
is not functioning,

so the issue seems to be aspecific
to the external drive/device, possibly
you may have to reinstall the drivers
or your computer can not provide
sufficient power through the usb
port to energize that external device
and may require a power adaptor for it
instead.

you should double check the
website for that external disk drive
for faq's or troubleshooting.

unfortunately, when you say that
the device was working perfectly,
and then you used a norton product on it
and now the device isn't working no more,
then it seems that the manufacturer for the
external disk or norton ghost will likely
have some answers or suggestions.

i would not be surprised if you had
to format that external disk and forget
about using norton on it again.

i suppose, that i could offer one
more suggestion, just for giggles.

open a browser or the internet
explorer and type G:\
in the url window and hit enter.

it's a shot in the dark, but if
the disk is functional and powered up, then
you might be able to explore it.

if i come up with any more ideas, i will
be happy to provide them here.
