Hi:

I had to recently restore my system. When I use the Help and Support Center
and click on the "INDEX" icon the system comes back with message box titled
"HELP" that says: "Cannot locate C:\Winnt\PcHealth\indicies\merged.hhk"
the only action available is to click on the OK button which dismisses the
window.

No other information is provided.

Any ideas on how to correct this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Follow the procedure here:

Error "Cannot locate merged.hhk" when clicking the Help and Support Center Index

Thank you for responding. I tried your suggestions and they didn't work. Is
there anything else I should be doing?

Thanking you in advance

Two thoughts:

Is your XP install actually located in "C:\Winnt" or could it be in
"C:\Windows"?

Click Start, Run, type SFC /SCANNOW, click OK. If any files are damaged
or missing, they'll be replaced. You may need to reboot afterwards so
damaged files will be replaced.

Being that the question is for Vista, and the page you are referring to is
for XP. Different options.

Where do you see anything about Vista in the question, the original post or the
subsequent posts?

Maria,
In your original post, you supplied the error message you receive, and it is
actually not the correct path. Could you please check again and give exactly what
the error states?

The error you posted referred to:
"C:\Winnt\PcHealth\indicies\merged.hhk"

The file should be located \PCHealth\HelpCtr\Indices

Please check in My Computer or Windows Explorer that you actually do have the
Indices folder inside the HelpCtr folder, and that the HelpCtr folder is inside the
PCHealth folder.

Also, please verify that your Windows installation is in C:\Winnt, rather than
C:\Windows.
