hd replacement and defragmented drive

HAWAIIANTIM

I would like to know if when installing a new hd, and transfering old files
to to drive they will be as fragmented as on the old drive I cant seem to
defragment many of the files.

If you clone the entire drive...
the fragmentation will still be there...
but if the data are just copied over...
there will be no (or less) fragmentation
