Hi everyone,
having trouble accessing my data from my external hard drive. Don't
know what happened, but I can't find the icon in the "my computer"
page anymore.

Computer detects the device, when i plug it in, and when I check the
device manager, it says the external hard drive is there and working
properly.
Went through the trouble shoot, but it doesn't tell me how to get
back the icon,( - so I can click it and access my ext. drive.) Pretty
frustrating! Help Please.

I

Open Disk Management and give the drive an unused letter. Sounds like
you have a network drive assigned to the same letter as the drive has.

Hi:
Hi:

As you say if you go to device manager and see the HDD, try to go My
Computer, Left mouse, Computer management, storage, disk manager, and try to
see if you see your disk, and the partition together, with the letter of
your logical unit. The try to go to Start->run->"CMD" and make a "dir" over
the logical unit.
