hardware problems

One of my intel 865perl motherboard's sata connectors broke. My sata drives
connected as a Raid array - Consequently system will not boot - I do not have
Windows XP disk or back up - I do not know how to move (Ghost does not work
for this) the information on the drives to another single sata or ide drive
etc. Any ideas at how to get the information off the disk drive and/or reuse
this system without re-buying windows - office etc.

Purchase a raid sata card. Never performed the task but it should. And
probably the least expensive method.

Is the problem with the cable connector in the back of your harddrive... or
a sata cable connector on the motherboard that is broken?

If the Sata connector port on the motherboard is broken, then you should see
about getting a replacement intel 865perl motherboard.
If that is not an option, another workaround could be had if you have an
open card slot on the motherboard itself...you could install an aftermarket
sata drive controller card in - and then plug your drive into that with a
sata cable. The system should boot again.

aftermarket card does not allow starting as zero stripe raid drives during
booting - unless i am missing something - any ideas where to get an old
865perl board? or are there any other thoughts on this - please

Terry - I purchased a sata controller card - but it was not recognized prior
to boot so the system would not boot - is there such a thing as a sata raid
controller that the system would recognize and try to boot from as the
original setup XP had to have software loaded to make it a raid system before
XP was copied to the hard drives
