I recently started experiencing the following error coming from my BIOS
MP3 error 2
it flashes on the screen just after scanning my SCSI drive, I have no idea
where to look for more details, I've looked in the BIOS, nothing appears to
be wrong, also looked in devices within control panel in windows, nothing is
marked with an Exclamation, so what the heck does it mean?
My system is set up in the following manner, floppy, internal DVD burner,
External SCSI CD Burner.

Youre SCSI drive must be installed improperly, power or connection to the
pc or similiar.Be nice if a brand name was posted.....Either way,if its a
lightonit drive, they all have firmware updates, get them at lightonit.com

The drive itself is working fine, burns cd's just great.
What I'm thinking is this, the Bios is set to check for bootable media in
the following order, cd,SCSI,floppy, hd I usually don't boot to the SCSI,
and do not keep any media in it, it's just wierd. by the way it's plextor

It depends on the setup, but several machines I have had recognized an addin
PCI/EIDE card as SCSI.

Since you say error message from BIOS, I would look to the Motherboard
tech support site for information first. If they haven't any idea then
check in with the folk at Plextor. Windows isn't involved in the message
at that point.
