Recently encountered a similar problem with Quicktime and Google
Earth. Both of these are recently installed programs and neither has
ever run properly.

In Google Earth, the problem is that the program starts and the Google
Earth screen come up but then the program shuts down before I can take
any action.

In Gquicktime, the screen comes up and sometimes I can get to click on
the load file tab but then the program shuts down.

I have tried sutting down my antivirus program but that has not
effect.

The computer works fine except for an occasional unexplained IE
Browser shutdown but taht seems to be associated with Ebay.

Any help would be appreciated.

Uninstall said applications.
Download the latest version of said applications.
Install said applications again.

If that fails - contact the manufacturers of said applications (or at least
read their FAQ pages on the Internet) for support.

Thanks for yor prompt resonse but I doubt lack of RAM is the cause.
My reasoning is I have two hard drives in this computer and both have
WindowsXP installed from the same CD. When loading Xp from the older
HD, C drive, both programs run properly. but when loading Xp from the
newer HD, D drive, neither will operate. Virtual memory settings are
the same on both drives and there are no additional programs running
on D.

Thanks again.

Have already done all those several times except for the FAQ. Will
check those today.

But due to having the programs operate correctly when operating on
another drive (please see my response to Andrew) I suspect the problem
is that I have installed WindowsXp with a slightly different setting
on this drive. Just can't figure out when, what or where.

Thanks.
