Even the IFA, the big German trade show that just saw the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 can't escape the shadow of Apple's upcoming iPhone 6. That's thanks to case makers who, every year, bring their dummy units along to show off their upcoming wares. This year, the same manufacturer who previously showed off iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s mockups before their launch had an iPhone 6 mockup ready and waiting. Sadly it was locked away in a glass case, but we did at least get a look at the front and sides.
All told, it looks a lot like the leaked images that have been floating around the web in recent weeks and months. It's larger, still metal and the edges of the phone have been rounded off compared to the iPhone 5s. It's got the thick white lines on the sides indicative of the antennae, though we couldn't see how this looked on the back. And while we couldn't actually touch it, it does look pretty slim.
Otherwise it lis just exactly what it should be: a bigger iPhone. This one was in gold — which you would assume that Apple would be offering again –— with the white front and gold ring around the Touch ID sensor. Looking around at the cases also gives us a vague idea of how big it might be. The image below shows the 5.1-inch Samsung Galaxy S5 next to one of the iPhone 6 cases and there's not a whole lot between them, though the iPhone seems to be shorter at least.
Better still, we'll be getting a proper look at the real deal in just a few days so be sure to keep it locked to iMore for full, live coverage of the launch event. In the meantime, be sure to drop your thoughts into the comments below!
