When I go to HKEY_USERS, and click on my own profile in the registry on one of our 2003 R2 servers, I get an error "Cannot open S-1-5....(blah-blah-blah). Error while opening key."
I figured out that the SID in the error message is my own profile. Other people get that error when they log into the server and click on my SID in the registry as well.

Does this mean that my profile on this machine is corrupt? I've been asking around the office to colleagues about this error and no one seems to know what's going on.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I saw in a KB article from Microsoft that I should try setting the permission for the Everyone group of the registry subkey to Full control.

When I did this and clicked OK or Apply, I got error, "Unable to save permission changes on [SID #]. Access is denied."
