'found new hardware' for Battery

OrganisedMess

Recently I installed WINDOWS XP SP2 in my NEC Versa M400 notebook and all
went smoothly except for sound driver and a message that goes....'Found New
Hardware' for Battery. I followed the instructions to search for the driver
thru internet but was not sucessful. Now everytime I launch the XP it keeps
prompting the 'Found New Hardware' for Battery.

Someone help me please !
 
drivers are obtained from NEC site, specific to your laptop, and NOT win
update

Thanks DL. I went to the NEC site but none available. Last night I removed my
battery but the same message emerged. Maybe I need to re-install and see what
happens....

Thanks DL.

I looked high and low in NEC website but none available. Last night I
removed the battery and boot up but same message appeared. Maybe if I
re-install it might just go away !

Thanks guys. After three attempts at installing, it finally worked like a
dream.....no missing drivers or hardware installers.

FYI,
1st attempt - missing sound drivers
2nd attempt - missing battery installer
3rd attempt - success at last

Goes to show that XP SP2 is not friendly with old notebooks like Versa M400 !
