Folder Options

I am trying to set all my folder options the same, but the "Apply to All
Folders" button is grayed out. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

In a archived Google Groups post, Mark L. Ferguson suggested:

"Don't open folder options from control panel. That is what
is making the button gray. Go to My Computer, and open the
desired folder parent, set the View, and then use Tools menu,
Options to open the View tab."
