2K Games has announced that the first game in the acclaimed BioShock series will be released for the iPhone and iPad sometime later this summer with optimized touch controls and full Made for iPhone (MFi) game controller support.
2K Games states:
"BioShock delivers a true triple-A first-person shooter game experience on the iOS platform, by sending players on an underwater adventure to explore the submerged Art Deco city of Rapture, fighting deranged survivors of a failed objectivist utopia and genetically modifying their own DNA to gain superhuman powers."
BioShock was first developed by Irrational Games and was released for the PC and Xbox 360 in 2006, followed by a release for the PS3 in 2007 and the Mac in 2009. The game won tons of critical praise for its deep storyline and incredible art design, not to mention its complex gameplay. 2K Marin developed and released a direct sequel, BioShock 2, which came out in 2010, and Irrational Games released a prequel, BioShock Infinite, in 2013.
Pricing for the iOS version of game has yet to be announced, although 2K Games indicated it will be a premium priced title. What do you think of the first BioShock finally coming to the iPhone and iPad?
