File Sync

I had set my system to synchronize some of my folders on another server a
couple of years ago but can't remember how I did it.

Does XP do this or would I have had to get a 3rd party program to get this?

I would suggest WinSCP that I believe is freeware. It offers a quite
straightforward GUI.

Obviously, Microsoft's PowerToy SyncToy is another option but I have not
used it extensively.

You are thinking of Offline Files. Look it up in Help and Support....
