Over the last 2-3 weeks the system performance has degraded dramatically. Here are the symptoms:
- Very slow responses to mouse driven button clicks, from seconds to minutes.
- For longer delays the system just freezes, does not accept any mouse or key-board inputs.
- Eventually it achieves the desired action, but this is very annoying and frustrating.
- The problem seems worse when multiple browser based applications are open (we use Chrome and Firefox).
I have taken the following corrective steps:
- Uninstalled any non-used non-essential programs.
- Ran the autoruns utility to turn off any non-essential processes from starting up.
- Ran the most up to date MSE full scan - no threats found. (June 17)
- Ran the most up to date Malwarebytes Threat scan - no threats found. (June 20)
None of these actions have helped. I need guidance to figure out the root cause and remedy.
Thank you.
