This is a perfect question for one of the many Excel newsgroups.

Unless OP is using Word, in which case it's a perfect question for one
of the many Word newsgroups.

Then I look at the title and see OP mentioned Excel there. <Groan>
Pertinent information should *always* be in the body of the message.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a message recall function? <Grin>

There is one in the NNTP specs of course, and in most newsreaders,
including mine (rescind or cancel message). But the MS news server
doesn't honor those requests. Once the message is here, you can't take
it back.

Cancel used to work here. But if google groups got it, then it's out
there forever anyway!

Checking now, The "Re: excel 07 drop shadows-Cancel check" should go away.

Yep, Cancel still works on the MS news server.

Nope, it was posted and is clearly visible on my newsreader.

Bob,

Did you use a 2nd newsreader to verify that? I know in Moz (NS for
you), if you cancel a post, it will remove it from YOUR view but the
post still remains on the server. Some servers will allow Moz to cancel
if the email address can be verified (actual not munged) as the same
between the original and the request to cancel post.
