i just started getting a error message on startup on xp. it says rundll error
windows system32/pupw.sys driver not found.. my system seems to be running ok but cannot figure out how to get rid of this error.
i did a google search on pupw.sys and it comes up with a language i cannot understand.. how do i fix this...

thanks

sorry i did not write the above post correctly..

the exact error is rundll error
error loading c:\windows\system32\drivers\pupw.sys
the specified module could not be found.

thanks

Open regedit and search for pup.sys. When you find the key that references it delete it. Restart and the error should be gone.

thank you so much bob. that worked great...

question would that error keep me from doing a system restore.

i tried several times to do a system restore but it said it could not be restored to an early time...

thanks again
